BENEFITS AND USES:

This medication is used to relieve diarrhea by slowing down the movement of stools in your bowels, makes the stools firmer and less watery. It also helps to reduce the number of times you need to run to the toilet. This medicine may also be used to treat diarrhoea associated with inflammatory bowel disease (inflammation of the digestive tract). This medicine may also be used to treat other conditions as decided by your doctor.

DIRECTIONS:

Take this medicine exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not take more or less than instructed by your doctor or pharmacist. Take with plenty of fluids to replenish the fluid lost by the body and ensure that a proper diet is followed. This medication may be taken with or without food. Do take it with food if there is stomach discomfort. You may stop taking Loperamide once you feel better or if you have no more diarrhoea unless instructed otherwise by the doctor.

This medicine may cause the following side effects: - drowsiness - dizziness - tiredness If affected, do not drive or take part in any activity in which you need to be alert. This medication may also cause the following side effects: - Constipation - Headache - Stomach discomfort - Indigestion - Dry mouth - Vomiting - Nausea Inform your doctor if any of these side effects do not go away or are severe, or if you experience other side effects.
