DO I NEED A PRESCRIPTION?

This medicine can be supplied by the pharmacists without a prescription under certain conditions. It falls under 'Prescription Only Medicine with Exemptions'.

BENEFITS AND USES:

This medicine is used for Gastro-Oesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), a condition where the acid from the stomach goes back up the food tube and throat, causing pain and a burning sensation known as heartburn, and ulcers of the gastrointestinal tract.

DIRECTIONS:

Take this medicine exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not take more or less than instructed by your doctor or pharmacist. Take this medication 60 minutes before a meal. Tablets should be swallowed whole with water and should not be chewed or crushed.

WHAT ARE THE POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS OF THIS MEDICINE?

This medicine may cause the following side effects:

• Headaches
• Gastrointestinal side effects (e.g. abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting, and wind)

Inform your doctor if any of these side effects do not go away or are severe, or if you experience other side effects.
