BENEFITS AND USES:

Metronidazole is an antibiotic that is commonly used to treat infections of the gut. It may also be used for the treatment of certain parasitic infections and bacterial vaginal infections.

DIRECTIONS:

Take this medicine exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not take more or less than instructed by your doctor or pharmacist. Take this medicine together with food or immediately after a meal. Complete the course of antibiotics as prescribed by your doctor.

Avoid consuming alcohol during the course of antibiotics and for three days after completion of antibiotics.

WHAT ARE THE POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS OF THIS MEDICINE?

This medication may cause the following side effects:

• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Metallic/ Unpleasant taste in the mouth
• Headache

Inform your doctor if any of these side effects do not go away or are severe, or if you experience other side effects. If you feel dizzy/ drowsy, do not drive or operate machinery.
